Could someone please help me identify a shrub, please? Dark green leaves much larger than the white flowers which are like tiny bells on individual stalks off the leaf stalks. Extremely fragrant, particularly in early evenings. Seen in south of France a couple of weeks ago. I have a photo but can't see how to post it on here. Any suggestions welcome.
Thank you so much Hawkwalk - you're a star - I would never have found that in a month of Sundays. It's such an unassuming plant but it smells divine and I was really taken with it. Thank you again for taking the trouble to help.
mistee, we saw (and smelled) exactly the same shrub while we were in france last week (biarritz) and wondered what it was. it really is very strongly scented isn't it? i wonder if it would do well in the north of england?
