bought some runner bean plants and have kept them in doors and watered but some of the leaves are starting to die,is it possible that over watering has done this or are they getting to big for the small tubs they are in, was looking to put them out now as the weather was warmed up
put them out during the day but either bring them in or cover them over night for a few days but you should be ok to plant them out now unless you live really up north
When my dad used to have runner bean plants, they would be quite established by now. I don`t want to insult anyone`s intelligence, but if you don`t get them outdoors they won`t be pollinated. He used to water them with a mixture of water and sugar to attract bees so the plants can be pollinated. With the downturn in the bee population you could do it yourself with an eyeshadow brush.
In future use the inner tubes of kitchen rolls or even toilet roll tubes to start runner beans as they like a long root-run, or roll newspaper into cones and fill with compost then plant into ground when growing well.
