Blackbirds in my garden

I found a nest in my garden today in some ivy I was cutting back. I was really sad because it had been abandoned and there were still 5 eggs in it :(

Young birds maybe a trial run or maybe one of the pair suffered an unfortunate end...cat or similar.... provides a wonderful nest site...you may get them back next year with more success
