Deer in the garden
Deer keep getting in our garden and vandalising it. I can't work out how they're getting in. 6ft high very prickly thick hedge all down one side and a 7ft fence at the bottom. High fence between us and next door. we have blocked all possible gaps at the sides of gates etc and still they're getting in!They're so greedy too, eating all the flowers. they don't seem to like anything with a very strong smell though so at the moment the geraniums are safe! any ideas?

Have you inspected the hedge closely, you might just find areas where they have pushed through. I have actually seen a deer go through a dense prickly hedge. I couldn't kill one either, by the way.
I'd recommend this repellent:

I tried it to keep away foxes from my garden but it should work for deer too, at least that's what the instructions in mine say. I found it worked perfectly well and cost less than a fiver so was definitely worth it.
Good luck!

My sister used to live in Minneapolis where deer where everywhere and nobody had garden fences so they were able to wander anywhere - I don't have any suggestions on how to stop them getting in But people, to stop them eating their plants, used to spray their gardens with a mixture of raw egg (which goes off) and washing up liquid - apparently the deer hate it...
