summer bulbs

Due to bad knees I have decided to plant some summer bulbs this year, has anyone any suggestions as to which will flower this year, and last the longest. with the brightest colours. many thanks in advance for your kind answers, I am in West Yorkshire and it ain't alf windy to-day.

I fail to see the connection.
Bulbs only flower for short periods ie lilies, freescias but tubers such as dahlias flower all through the summer into autumn. If you bury them deep enough and your soil isn't too heavy you can leave them in over winter.
agree with coccinelle dahlias will flower well into the autumn and i've had some left in the ground for about six years.
