While turning over my Garden earlier i notice very many earthworms (from previous years manuring) I would like to know is it possible as a general guide to determine Acid or Alkaline soil from the amount of earthworms (or the lack of them? Thx

Earthworms can't tolerate acidic soil, so the more worms, the more alkaline your soil is.

I doubt there's a standard ph level for number of worms per m³ though. :-)
