Leaking Door

A couple of years ago I had my windows and doors replaced with UPVC double glazed units. This morning I pulled my doormat away and it was wet underneath, should this happen after really heavy .rain?

Was your doormat inside or outside? If inside, could it be condensation?

Has the door got a sloping fixed ledge; for water to drain away?

It is an outside door and it has a sort of litttle ledge outside that fits in one of the grooves on the floor of the door

Has the sealant come away in any area?

uPVC doors are really very good at weatherproofing. I doubt if anything has gone wrong with them. I would put money on them needing adjusting.

There's a lot of adjustment possible on them to re-align everything.
It's not at all difficult, but almost impossible to describe here. If you fancy a go. Try looking on Youtube for "adjusting uPVC doors". I'll bet there are some.

If not, ask locally for anyone who supplies and fits them. Not one of the big double glazing companies, just a local fitter. He'll adjust it for you.

Hi Mr Builder, It was a local man that fitted them for me so I will give him a ring and ask him to come round and have a look. Nice to hear from you again. My garage is still in he same state but i have had a small conservatory built this year which i am very pleased with. xx
