I told my dad I'd paint his bathroom for him and took him a colour chart today. Told him what I thought was nice and he agreed with me on one colour scheme so went and bought some testers and painted small squares on the wall. Now I'm having second thoughts about the colour scheme and it's ridiculous but I can't sleep cus of it!!
I really want to do something really good but now I'm not sure about the colour, I was all excited at the prospect of decorating it and was coming out with all these ideas and now I think my ideas were all wrong and the colour scheme is going to look old fashioned and I'm scared that I am failing before I even begin.
Just out of interest what colour are peoples bathrooms?
LOL...thats ok gbg...I moved into a house with a carpeted bath-I think it even went up the sides!......couldn't wait to get rid if it. Lived with it for a year.
Boys and bathrooms? Yes, well I understand all about that, but this one carpeted bathroom stays looking nice. The carpet's latex-backed and washes easily anyway. In fact....I might use carpet elsewhere as well!! : )
If you are worried about the colour go for something neutral like magnolia or a similar colour. Whatever you decide it will look nice and clean and fresh!
Some years ago, I let my 14 year-old niece and her friends loose in my bathroom with paint and sponges. I had already painted the walls Dulux apple white (as that was the boring bit). The colours the kids chose were pale green, dark blue and lilac, which they sponged randomly on the walls. I have never changed it - I can sit and "read my newspaper" in a flower garden.
Yes at least it will be clean and fresh crapmemory.
I have done one coat on the bathroom ceiling - took me 3 hourse last night. This is a bigger job than I thought and buit worried what I have taken on. Walls weren't the best round the top edges and couple of holes that need filling in plus there are a few hairline cracks in the ceiling. I just basically scraped the surface bits of roughness off and painted over but really I think it needed more preparation although my dad didn't seem too bothered.
Things like the wooden cupboard, bathroom door and skirting board that I thought I would be able to paint over, my mum said I would probs have to rub down first then paint so bit worried what I've taken on :oS
