Is it a cellar or a crawl space? ie above or below ground and what does it smell of , a sewage leak or a dead animal?

Like a damp smell
Where does the air that comes through the airbrick come from?
how long have you lived in your house?

Judging by some of your previous posts about condensation, smells, etc I am wondering if you are living in an older house and have stopped it 'breathing'?
cellars shouldn't have ANY water in
The water would account for the damp smell.
