If you buy a property with a lease is there any chance of buying the lease so it becomes freehold - only on a semi-house for instance not for a block with flats. Tia

Yes, there is a chance. I bought the freehold of my house (2 flats) when I bought the property.
Certainly can. Especially if it is a long term lease with a peppercorn rent attached. I though you could request purchase and they had to give you a price ? If the deal is reasonable it simplifies things to get the lease. Bit of a weird system anyway, to own a house but not where it is.
