Problem With Outlook Email Account
I use Outlook for 2 email accounts. One is my personal email and the other is a support group that I run. Recently I have had problems with the support group one whereby when I try to send an email to all members it bounces back saying that "unusual activity has been detected" despite me sending emails from the account for years. The message also says "to help protect you we have temporarily blocked it" and then I have to verify the account.
That involves having to log in, insert password, give phone number, beat 3 robots!, receive a code, enter code, account gets unlocked, enter phone number again, outlook opens as a webpage rather than the outlook programme, and then I can send the email.
Please can someone tell me what the problem is so that I dont have to follow that security rigmarole - please?!
Thanks 😊

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the Community.
Microsoft itself doesn't recommend personal email users to send mass emails, because it will be regarded as sending advertisement emails in mass. And Microsoft also has limitations on the number of recipients for group emails, when you send group emails more often, the number of recipients will be limited less and less. At the end of the day, you will not be able to send mass emails.//
Thanks for the link Togo.
Though being honest I don't totally understand the reply! 🫣 Is it saying that it is a temporary thing when they reply that "If you are sending “group” emails, you need to wait patiently for the “group” function to be restored because the “group” function is still under repair."
Well that is what the Microsoft wonk is saying shivvy. However ... ""wait patiently for the “group” function to be restored because the “group” function is still under repair. I will contact you once there is progress."" sounds suspiciously, to me anyway, a deflection answer before they announce that all group emails need a subscription or other conditions that must be met. I am a bit of a cynic I'm afraid and the problem is I get more right answers the more cynical I become. I feel that microsoft themselves are currently looking at ways to increase their revenue stream having lost so much to most of us now having a kery to the system and very few brand new paid for hits via new devices. They are also currently funding a very expensive developement of a quantum chip that looks promising but needs future production funds. I feel that the days of free email for all may be drawing to a close, and not just with microsoft.
