my bf and i have just a fantastic weekend together. didnt do to much just went out for a meal on saturday and spent the whole of sunday in bed except to eat dinner. not in bed in that way but just relaxing and watching the tv. we had a marathon 'chat' last night and began talking about how we want to spend all of our nights together so want to get our own place soon. we both have a picture of our ideal home, a studio/1 bedroom apartment will do nicely. we r in two minds whether it is best to rent a place initially with a view of buying somewhere later or whether to go all out and splash the cash. im thinkin maybe renting will b best until we decide to get married. just in case living together doesnt work out. however...he has spoken to someone who has said that it may be difficult for us to get a mortgage seen as im self-employed and my bf is a sub contractor. does anyone have any experience of being in this situation? what do u think is our best bet at this stage? thanks x

lol thought i should make tht clear or i would of sounded a bit pervy! :o)
Pop into a local estate agents who have an independent financial adviser. See if they will give you an appointment for an exploratory chat about how you would stand regarding getting a mortgage and consequently what price property you might be in the market for. If you don't ask the question, you will never know. Good luck x
