have entry date for new property , do i assume all equipement being sold with the property is in working order, ie central heating alarms cooker ect. ? thanks
I don't know about Scotland but in England these things are not included in a survey so no, you can't assume that they are all in working order unless the seller has specifically stated that they are. I can't imagine Scotland being much different although I know the law is different.
English surveys ususally state on them that such things haven't been tested so it maybe worth checking your scottish survey to see if there is anything similar on it.
You say the property is "new". If it is literally brand new, then the equipment will also be new and must work. If it is not new, then your solicitor should ensure that the vendor completes a questionnaire providing full details of any equipment included in the sale. Make sure he does so.
