Do you rent with Hunters letting agency?
1 Answers
well, I do and i am really stressed out! i sometimes feel they dont seem to care about their tenants, all they care about is taking rent money, agency fees etc off me.
My contract ends this Saturday and need to move out soon. I have already found another place from another agency, but they are still waiting for a reference off Hunters!! how long does it take to write a reference? we requested it since Monday and not heard anything from them, i have left messages etc and so have my new agency, wtf is going on??? =( i was hoping to start moving my things in to the new place today but everything have been put on hold cos of this stupid reference. i even took today and tomorrow off work hoping to move things and i dont even get paid for it! feels like a whole day wasted.
I dont hand my keys in til Monday (cos they want to inspect the place before i can get my deposit back- and they dont inspect on a weekend).Do you think they will send off my reference after the inspection?? Grrrrrrrr
My work colleague told me that Hunters have a reputation with poor customer service etc... is he right??

Fees are payable by a tenant to the Agent but the Agent is literally an agent to the landlord and that's where their responsibility lies.
It doesn't excuse poor or unprofessional behavior by the Agent but they are under no obligation to even give a reference on your behalf (although there would be little reason for them not to). Have the new agents phoned up your current agents to find out what the delay is?
