Hi
My partner has recently been made redundant and has set up on his own, he owns his own house and has equity of approx 50k-70k. How many months/years worth of books do we need to be able to get a mortgage so we can buy together. I do work but am also at uni training to be a teacher.
Thanks

My boyfriend bought a house and he had to declare his income over the past three years. He took the mortgage up with Abbey, who apparently don't check the figures and take what you've said at face value (which is worrying but we were telling the truth anyway).

But in general I would say three years worth of books
