cavity wall installation

We live in a semi detached house with a conservatory on the back. We were due to have the cavity walls filled today. The workmen said they could not do the work even though we were visited by one of their surveying team to check the property a few weeks ago and he reported no problems. Because we are semi detached they could not insulate the front porch because of the design, they could not do the work over the porch because of access, and they are not allowed to do any work over the conservatory. I am not too bothered with the porch bit but is it right that every home with a conservatory cant have wall insulation or is it just this one company.

Did they explain why? - I don't think it's a Building Control reason, I just think they don't want to climb out over your conservatory for H&S reasons. Or in case they drop something onto it.

BM's dead right Sam. You get a lot of this now. The "surveyors" they send out (often just someone with a clean shirt) are paid just to book the work in.
With pumped systems today, it should be quite possible to drill a few holes over the conservatory to fill the cavity.
Try a few others. Good luck :o)
