Hi AB's, we are pensioners and my husband has got lung cancer. my question is does any one know of an organisation that assists people such as us with odd jobs, cheaply, such as putting in loft insulation, we have got all the rolls, and laying carpet in our conserveratory. Thankyou WHF
Regarding the insulation, we had a knock on the door the other week from British Gas, who said they were doing it free for all their customers. You might not be with BG but perhaps others do the same.
Hi postdog, we were offered loft insulation from "Warm front " but was told we could not use the loft for storage after, and as we store the usual "rubbish" up there, such as suit cases and memorabelia belonging to the children we chose not to go down that road, so we bought all the insulation to do it our selves. Then my hubby was diagnosed with cancer and cannot do the work. Boxtops we live in Milton Keynes.
Hi WHF ...
this is Milton Keynes Council Website .. Lower down the page it mentions 'Home Improvements' and mentions loft insulation. If you can't get the help through their website I would suggest phoning them .. there is a grey bar there with 'contact us' Click on that and there are phone numbers .. I'm sure someone will be able tohelp you from there.http://www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/mk-soci
