Thank you for the answers
I dont think the glass will come out of the oven door but I will certainly look for a foaming oven cleaner and use alongside a silver scourer
Get the profetionals in. I never touch my oven I get the oven people in every January for £50 a time, brilliant they leave it like new.
I'm not lazy but I've a problem with my back & can't get down there & H is too old.
The oven is only 3 years old and I had to scrape the gunge of the bottom when I last cleaned it and have now popped the washable black liners in the bottom and they seem to be working
Ric, they do everything, shelves and all and depending where you are in the country you may get it done cheaper. I got mine done for £40 cash and it looks like brand spanking new.
YES, Ric, Of course they will do the door its part of the oven. They will do the grill and the hob too (For extra charge)
Look up your area on Google. Good Luck.
I take the glass out and soak it overnight in a strong solution of biological washing powder. It then cleans off beautifully in the morning with very little effort. I do this with the shelves as well. I don't use any oven cleaners at all.
You're lucky LoftyL you can get down there to be able to do it. OR perhaps you've got an eye level type.
Personally I would still get the oven cleaners in. (Just thought, yes I am a lazy cow)
I always do my oven the same way as Lottie and it always looks good as new. The hob should'nt get too bad if you wipe it down every time after you use it.
The lakeland stuff is amazing.. its like a gel you paint on then wipe off when it goes brown.
If you look at your over door there might be some little screws to release the glass. If not put loads of newspaper on the floor, open the door and paint the gel stuff straight on.
