I have found some round soft things on my lawn this morning. They look like marbles but they are soft and springy. Anyone any ideas as to what they are please?

mushrooms/fungi ? A pic would resolve the problem quicker.
Oh wow ! What do they taste like ?

(Some of those poisonous fungi must have interesting flavours.)
Some sort of mushroom probably.
Not polystyrene packing from someone's bin are they ?
A little more information would help im sure!!

Can you pick them up, are they growing, are they organic in nature, what colour are they etc. etc...........
I had a similar problem a while back.

They are the same size as a normal marble. You can pick them up and they are soft and springy. They were just on the lawn when I went out to the bin.
Have they got stalks or are they just sitting on the lawn?
Do you have youngsters nearby with a soft pellet gun? what colour are they?

Right, lets start again. If you saw them as I did on my lawn, you would think they were glass marbles that kids play with. The only difference is that they are soft and springy. They are not growing. They do not have any roots. They were just on my lawn, about 15 of them. Can't send a photo til hubby comes back from golf as I am sorry to say i do not know how to do it.
I have no idea then, but I'm intrigued to find out!
Is there a Snowberry bush anywhere near?
You must have better weather than us if hubby is playing golf. Here it would have to be a new game of 'water-golf', jeepers it's wet to-day!
It sounds to me like someone has just chucked them into your garden.
what colour are they?

how can I add photo to answerbank
I think they may be stones with blood in them.
You need to save a photo to a sharing site like photobucket, then upload it from there.
You can't add a photo, but you can post the direct link from Photobucket or whatever image host you are using, so that it can be viewed.
