Yes..... remeber to put a barrier round the size you are prepared to let the clump grow... technically it's staeling of course but it never stopped me... plants on wasteground are fair game in my book I see it as rescuing them

My late mum's friend had a garden that would cost a fortune to create. But...
it didn't cost her a penny as she rescued plants and if she spotted one in a garden when out walking her dog, she would ask the owner if she could have a cutting. Built up over the years it was a real masterpiece.
Not sure this will be the best time of year to transplant.
Most varieties of bamboo can take over a garden. Further to Rowan's advice about a barrier, there's some good advice here...

Yes be careful with it SandyRoe; some varieties can really run riot and then you can't get rid it.
