How to repair chips in a bath??
7 Answers
Hi there
I have a white bath that is definately not the old fashioned solid type. It seems like plastic but I can not be sure of it's exact material. It has a few tiny chips in it and I am worried that it will crack eventually. How should I go about protecting it from cracking?
Thanks,
Rachel

Usually these only affect the shiny surface of the bath - you'd know if the chip had pierced the fibreglass as it would leak. If the bath moves with cracks might develop but they would anyway under those circumstances.
This article talks about resurfacing with epoxy but it sounds to me like the epoxy would float off after a while.

It shouldn't crack right through. It'll just be chips in the initial "gel coat". That's usually the first coat in the mould, before the re-inforced coats go on.
