Flowering shrubs

Having moved house, we have in our garden two small flowering shrubs and have not been able to identify them. They are about 50 cms high, roughly spherical in shape, with 3-lobed leaves. Small yellow flowers (a little like dandelions in appearance) have just begun appearing (late August 2012). Please can you help us to identify them?
