I have a South east facing shady border on chalk, unfortunately it is backed by next doors 4 Leylandii trees, so is rather dry, In spring it has Bluebells,Cowslips and Primroses, now I have Welsh poppies, bearded iris and Campanula Pyramidalis.
I would like to take these out and replace with flowering shrubs, or herbaceous perennials that flower.
Any recommendations of suggestions please.
Thanks.

(You don't have to complete all of the fields; just use the ones that are important to you).
Mahonia aquifolia or Forsythia, perhaps
I second mahonia and would add daphnia....
^^^more commonly known as daphne, of course!
