Anyone know the time this switches on and off please. I am sure there must be a difference for winter and summer time.

I think it can vary but it will definitely come on an hour later in summertime. When I had a flat mine came on at 11pm but I can`t remember whether that was winter or summer. I think it can vary. It might be on the website of your provider.

You need to ring your current energy supplier. They have access to the1:00 records which are stored on a central records system so it doesn't matter if you have changed suppliers at some point.

In my case it is 00:30- 7:30 in winter

Some users may still have mechanical time switches that do not vary in time setting (unless the utility company comes in to change it). These will be old systems, the times won't vary to take account of the winter/summer switching.
Installations since the 1980s have used radio-teleswitches that enable providers can switch in / out according to the load on their systems. In this case the actual on/off times will vary, but always within the times guaranteed by the provider.
If you are using Economy7 to drive a washing machine load at night, you should set the start time to the centre of the time band to ensure you benefit fully from the cheaper supply period.
Otherwise, not sure why the actual switching times are relevant.

Thanks got the replies.

I will ask my supplier to be sure.

I won't leave washing to be done at night since a friends daughter and children had to be rescued when the machine caught fire.

I had hoped if it was feasible, I could have got up a bit earlier and dried the washing in the tumble drier.

I agree with what buildersmate says about setting the washing machine (and dishwasher) for the middle of the time band but as droopydrawers suggests, the exact times need to be known so we know when to get up to do the tumble drying if it's too wet/cold outside
