I don't know. I read somewhere if you're storing stuff there set it on pallets as this stops moisture from the ground getting at it.
How many vent's does the garage have? try leaving the doors open, what is the structure?

No ,not that kind of storage, just household storage, such as Xmas decks, suitcases, spare crockery etc.etc.Also seasonale clothing which are ok as they are in big plastic storage boxes, but anything in cardboard boxes gets very damp.Do have the window open (a very small one) in the summer time ..maybe should try in the winter too..but don`t think it will really help. The roof is corrugated....the rest is brick.
Always going to be a problem in some garages Kloof. They're really not built for dry storage. If it were lined out with simple insulation and maybe plywood, it would help a lot. Especially the roof. Lots of condensation drips off corrugated roofs.
The only way is to try to keep the temperature above the "dew-point" at which condensation occurs.
A de-humidifier would have to be on constantly. You'd also be sucking in damp air from all over.......... in effect, de-humidifying the planet ;o(
Can't you put the cardbaord boxes in the loft?
Else invest in some large plastic boxes. Help to save on the electric bill of a dehumidifier.

loft full...really needs sorting out...as you can guess...I am a hoarder, won`t throw out anything that might come in useful at some point.Believe me...they do.I once had a huge sort out ...was really ruthless...loads of stuff to the tip etc....what happened ...a couple of months down the line...I needed something I had got rid of after having had it for years!!!

Yes,I think I will indulge in a load more plastic boxes.
