Guarantor On A Sofa

my mum is a Guarantor on a sofa that my mum agreed to because my ex boyfriend had no credit so my ex was paying for it while i was with him but then we broke and he was paying for the sofa for a few months after and then he got into a new relationship and changed his number and now isn't paying for the sofa which is in his home. please could someone help me because i am at a lose end and i really don't no what to do thanks.

If youtrr mum is the guarantor then unfortunately they will come after her for the money and there is nbothing she can do about it. That is what being a guarantor means, if the original person doesn't pay then you are guaranteeing that you will!

Yep, agree with cheeky. It's up to your mum to chase up the debt with your ex, I guess she has the guarantor agreement still?

Personally I'd break into his house, burn the sofa whilst he was sitting on it, and consider it worth paying for...............but hey that's just me.
