I have just closed the cutlery drawer, carelessly and something has jammed itself between the drawer and the work surface above.
I can't open the drawer more than a couple of centimetres and I can't close it properly either.
I can't dismantle the drawer because I can't get to it.
I've tried dislodging the jammed article with a plastic spatula but it won't move.
What can I do?
I've opened the drawer underneath and given the cutlery drawer a good shake but it still won't budge.
Above the drawer is the hob, sitting in the work surface. I'm worried about doing that some damage.
Been there, done that. IMO you can do what you have been trying until by some chance you manage to push down the item jamming the drawer and move the drawer out. Sometimes it will slide back allowing more access to get other stuff out and make room. Aside from that, unless you can dismantle the draw slide mechanism from below and remove the drawer ?
Worse comes to worst you break the nottom of thw drawer, get everything out, then find out how much a replacement drawer would be.
I've done in now. I used a chisel and a hammer and gave it a wallop. It was the meat thermometer. That is now going in another drawer.
Thank you all for trying to help. I'm so glad I didn't have to start asking questions about removing the hob!
