I Need Help With The Name Of A Flower

I need help with the name of a flower. It has a long stalk and is pink at the top. It is very tall and I think the flower is quite solid rather than anything flimsy. Need help with the name.

sorry should have said that there is not one single flower on top of the stalk but lots of little ones that go into a point like shape.

Could it be anything like a red hot poker? I know it is not pink but it might lead you somewhere.

I would post a picture if I knew what it was called. I just saw it on a telly programme. There were lots of these long stalked flowers in a vase and they looked beautiful. Not the pokers and not nerines. It looked very much like the foxgloves in that picture but I don't think the stalks are long enough to be that.

I think that the foxglove pic only shows the 'head' as we have them in the garden and they reach 4 to 5 foot tall.
