Steamer Mops

I am thinking of buying one for hard floors and carpets can anyone please tell me if they are any good tia

I did have a hometek one which was OK but never produced much steam. I've recently bought the X5 green thing they keep advertising. It's very good on hard floors. Produces loads of steam and the attachments work well. Only disadvantage is it does make the floor quite wet as does the window cleaning bit. It certainly brings my floors up very clean very easily though.

They dont clean carpets they just kill germs, but are great on hard floors, even ones that look clean..

I'm thinking of getting one as well fruitsalad, all my floors are hardwood. These mops seem to be all the rage at Lakeland at the moment.

My 'lady who does' has got one that she bought from a shopping channel. It does a fantastic job all through the house. She had a problem at the beginning as she had it on maximum steam setting, and it left everywhere very wet. Once she adjusted this to minimum, (1 -2 setting) it was much better, and performed just as well.
It leaves everywhere just sparkling, particularly grout, sinks, showers. She just uses maximum to steam down the drains.

Here you are, fruitsalad. My only reservation about it is that it looks a bit insubstantial, as it is made of plastic. But it does a very good job.

I've got an orek one and its brilliant on my hardwood floors. You have to check though, not all floors are suitable to use them on.

Are you using maximum steam? That might be the problem. I have a Karcher window vac, and when it's used together with the steamer, the windows sparkle. It's well worth raiding the piggybank for.

You have actually made me think. I did turn it up full to do some grouting and I don't think I ever remembered to turn it down again. Thanks for the tip.

I have a Hometek, it was great on the ceramic tiles in my old kitchen. Wasn't impressed with the carpet-cleaning ability though.

I'd had it for about two years when it blew up. Hometek replaced it for me, FOC, although I had no receipt or box. I was impressed with that.

Very rarely use it now, since moving house.

I was in a charity shop yesterday and noticed they were steaming the clothes that were brought in with one

I would not be without my steamer..have wood, ceramic and rubber floors on ground floor...brilliant !!!!
