Abru 2 Section Aluminium Loft Ladder (wilkinson) £28
Can I use this ladder without fixing because I was told that where my loft hatch is situated it is too awkward a place to have one fitted.

Anyone ?
I do not know but if it is a loft ladder my guess would be that it needs to be fixed. Doesn't the label give a clue, or the Wilkinson staff know ?

Not spoken to anyone yet I had a guy putting insulation in my loft and he said I needed a 5 rung ladder and just looked ladders up and found this one and the price was right as well
Or you can keep a step ladder handy for when needed. Not as if you need to get up there on a daily basis.

I have a step ladder but I am not confident or agile enough to get up into the hatch as I have wooden floors
One reviewer I've seen says that he used it as a 'stand to' ladder without fixing for loft access, silka.
Google 'loft ladder' and it's the fourth one down, reviews at the bottom.

I dont see that Douglas looked twice
It says:

I didn't purchase this product for its designed use - please pay attention to the size of your loft hatch opening before purchase. However, as a stand-to ladder into my loft, the product serves its purpose. The ladder is sturdy enough (for someone of muscular build like me at 110kgs), and feels secure enough during use. Metal fittings supplied seemed a little flimsy, but I have no experience of tensile strength to refer back to. Two segments in this ladder when compared with three also made it easier to manipulate the ladder. I'd recommend as fit for purpose, and easy to fit.
