Cd Storage??
22 Answers
My OH has an excessive amount of CD's - which are all over the house, in various cupboards etc.
We used to have storage racks but they were a pain as the dogs would knock them over - does anyone have any really good ideas on ways to store them...other than the bin!
Thanks :)

Then he can listen to them on the computer or stream them from the computer to other devices.
There really is no reason nowadays to have actual CDs any more so once he has ripped them he can put them in a box and put them in the loft or wherever.
I have about 200 albums on my PC and while I still have the actual CDs I rarely if even need to play them or access them.

If you have CDs and are not interested in converting them to data files and slinging the originals, then you are stuck with at least some of the bulk. In which case I'd suggest a bigger house :-)
You can, of course, take the disks out and get storage "folders" which would allow you to sling the jewel cases. But I suspect that would be an unpopular suggestion.
I can only think that they sit of shelves easily enough, Dedicate a wall of shelves to them so they are in one place, preferably in a room the dogs don't enter, such as your dedicated music room ;-)

I admit that I could do with another one now as well though.

I have cut down on storage for both cd & dvd discs by putting them all into plastic sleeves which take up much less room.

Just to ad my two pennyworth.
All my cds are now put away.
I have my collection on the PC,2 external drives, this laptop and most of the collection on iPod. It is much easier to access and play them now.
Modern car stereos can play from other sources. My 7 year old Skoda has a 6 cd autochanger that plays mp3s so hundreds if not thousands in car.
Even my Triumph spitfire unit plays mp3s and has a USB socket plus an sd card slot.
Finally even my wife's next to basic Dacia Sandero has an aux jack, mp3 and usb socket!
Even if your car does not have these as standard a radio link fron your mp3 player is cheaply obtained from Maplinsor eBay.
Hope that helps in some small way.
