Leave it on
I'm clueless when it comes to technology and really surprised at the responses - is there any benefit to leaving a router on? I switch mine off before leaving the house every day - will this be causing some kind of damage?
Why would you? We don't turn our phones off when we leave home...?
I'd turn it off.
I switch everything off except the phone, fridge and freezer. Not sure why, habit I suppose!
i'd tuen it off on the basis that there is no benefit to leaving it on.
rosieapple: If you turn your broadband router off every day then you probably never let it reach it's optimum speed. A broadband line goes through a process called "training" after being connected. The line & router will start to communicate at a fairly low speed and, if stable for long enough, will increase this in stages over a period of 2-3 days until it reaches the maximum stable speed for your line. If you turn your router off every day then this process starts again everyday and you'll never get the best out of your line.

Leave it on, it uses bugger-all power.
If you were to ask your ISP, they would definitely say that it should always be on.
