can anyone tell me if you are supposed to cut this plant back when it has finished flowering . I cant find it anywhere in my gardening books

As it's only a low growing (6inch) rockery perennial, I'd feel inclined to leave it, but if you want to tidy it up for appearance sake, then a light trim at the end of the flowering season to the stems should do no harm.
