Olive Tree

Loads of flowers on my olive. Should I water it? Know it usually grows in dry conditions.

I water mine along with all my other pots and tubs but its in free draining soil

I am looking after a very small one in a plant pot, for a neighbour, which she keeps indoors on a windowsill. The soil that it is in looks baked hard, and she says not to water it from the top but to stand in a dish of water weekly but it is to be kept really dry. The tips of the leaves are turning brown - is this a sign it needs more water? I do hope it doesn't die on me!

Usually water it. Water butt now empty and a huge chore carrying watering can downstairs. No access to water on ground level. First floor flat.

I have watered mine this week, but not as much as other stuff. They are full of blossom. They are in huge pots and are quite big trees now - too big to lift up and place in a bowl of water. I did plant them in the correct stuff for olive trees which does bake hard and dry.

Yes, we water our olive tree when we water the rest of the garden. Agree re usual dry conditions but ours is in a pot so can't seek out its own water.

Can you throw a hose out of the window, daisy, to fill up the water butt again?
