I think the idea is lovely but we're both hoarders so it wouldn't work.

giveup, you're reminding me of just how much I need to get rid of x

I keep trying Psybbo, but it keeps creeping back in.
Not entirely minimalist but tidy and uncluttered. However, we do have a 'junk' room. I hate it.
no, i couldn't have ... im not a hoarder exactly but i do have a lot of stuff - i am currently in the process of getting rid of as much as i can - but it will never be minimalist - i dont like it, it always seems a bit soul-less, no character, even worse if the home also has no 'style' - you know just a room with a few random items plonked around.
with money and design it can look nice of course, but it still looks unlived in, like the showroom display
No but it is very tidy... which has a lot more to do with man hostage than it does with me, I am rather chaotic.

Mine is tidy but we've still got too much stuff.I was trying to get my husband to get rid of some of his old clothes and he said "they will come in for decorating". He never decorates.
I agree with joko, I like a cosy lived in home but that still leaves 3 wardrobes and a cloakroom to be cleared out
I have a minimalist garage, only the car in there.
I hate clutter. I do try for minimalist, but the children clearly prefer maximalist. Pictures and a few ornaments are fine, but i like space.
I don't like being surrounded with stuff. My living room has a mirror,2 candle sticks and some plants.

My kitchen only has the Kettle & canisters, big pepper grinder and a utensils pot, on the work tops.
No way, I'm a hoarder, wish I wasn't though. You'll see me on one of those TV programmes in the future, where a pile of magazines has fallen on my head and killed me.

I really should address the problem!
I have cupboards....I hide everything :-) Then I clear the cupboards out and throw it all away...
That's the word Mamya
Minimalist! My house is full of toys, there are completed Lego sets on nearly every surface (and boxes full under beds, in the garage and in the 'spare' bathroom where they are languishing in the Lego hospital) and we even have a large toy kitchen in our bedroom. I have no real urge to stream line it all as no one comes here (apart from my friend and her house is not exactly minimalist either).
Oops apologies, my posts keep jumping around!

Tony,we can't get our car in the garage, its too full.
I wish I could just throw things out but I seriously can't do it, if the otherhalf tries to chuck it, I hide it. :(

Tis a problem.
Well, i thought i did..until i started having a clear out and for a two bed house i seemed to have hoarded tons of waste...roughly removed 20/30 black bags of unworn clothing, broken toys, pots and pans i dont use and bedding that i never use anymore and dont have heart to bag up. Well everything has been bagged up and gone to charity, skip etc. My house seems so nice and clean. Just the kitchen to finish clearing out.
I guess if all you ever do at home is watch telly, its easy to be uncluttered. A few dogs, kids and hobbies and the place becomes shambolic. You takes your choice. What is tough is when one partner wants to be minimalist and the other doesn't.
