Not sure this is the right category, but couldn't see a more suitable one...

I'm an avid scrapbooker, and have boxes of craft stuff, including a lot of rub offs. However, some of them don't want to rub off. I have resorted to cutting some out and sticking them down - obviously not ideal! Am I storing them incorrectly?

They get less tacky as they get older. You do need to make sure that they are stored away from dust and with the backing sheet intact to keep the tacky bit tacky. The other thing to consider is the surface that you are rubbing on to. If it is rough, dusty or both, then the rubdown won't work. I prefer vellum stickers which give the same effect for less hassle.

You are the first scrapper who has "fessed up" on AB!! I am a scrapper, also a card maker. Have you got any good web addresses??

If you want to download papers, here's a good site

Its in both dutch and english, the downloads are free. There's a Yahoo group you can join but its closed for the summer.

Thanks wolfgang, never realised you were a scrapper too! I do cards as well - been doing them for years, but only got into scrapping about a year ago, so still got lots to learn! If I come across any good sites, I'll let you know.
I make cards, haven't got started on scrappin' yet, although have the album for when I do get the urge. I have also done some Altered Art (books, tins etc) I also belong to a Yahoo group where I take part in a monthly ATC swap . nice to know some more AB'ers are also into craft. Got loads of favourites bookmarked, shout if you are looking for anything in particular , I also belong to a good Forum, a nice, fun and friendly place.

Jules, can you post details of the groups that you belong to or would you rather not??

...I'm nice honest, some other person keeps posting snotty stuff in my name ;-b

So do either of you do any other crafts? I'm very big on cross stitch too, and have 'dabbled' in virtually every craft going. Candle making, decoupage, quilling, you name it! Cross stitch, cards and scrapbooking are my faves though. Anyone tried any unusual crafts - and if so, what were they like?

I cross stitch off and on, and have patchworked, have done tole painting, done the traditional decoupage but am not keen on the 3d, am too fumblefingered to quill, currently playing around with beads and wire. As a kid I used to love to do old fashioned paper sculpture and am hoping for a revival (wish I'd kept the books), also have messed around with calligraphy and (of course) origami. All of my family are crafty. I have tatted and done macrame too...oddly I really cannot knit or crochet!!!

What I love about making cards and scrapping is you get to use all the crafts, what the posh types call "multimedia"!!

I make cards but haven't done scrapbooking.I always look here for inspiration and belong to the forum.Srapbookers on there too.

As I was reading this I was thinking "what on Earth is scrapbooking" (if that's a word) but it sounded interesting so I googled it and it looks really good! Definately gonna give it a go, The thing is I have to books that I have made about my son since he was born, (1 from birth to starting school and 1 from then to now), it has photos, tickets from shows his band from the hospital when he was born, certificates he has won etc all with little comments written beside them, is this basically what scrapbooking is? Thanks and sorry if I sound ignorant
YES!!! mycatis, that is exactly what scrapbooking is about. There are all sorts of goodies around now to make it easier and posher, but essentially its preserving the memories....
cool gonna do more of this then, thanks guys, I needed a new hobby :)
I have done cross stitch in the past, although it takes too long for me, I am a I want it now person :) Ihave also dabbled with calligraphy, stencilling, water colour painting amongst others, but really love card making. I sell my card, do any of you sell them or do you make them for family and friends.
This is link to a forum I belong to as I said they are all very nice and friendly http://bumblebeecrafts.co.uk/phpBB2/portal.php, you will also find other links there too particularly scrapbooking ones. Here is another one with loads of tutorials for different techniques http://www.nuttnhoney.net/GreatTutorials.html
