Boiler Trouble

The pressure guage on my boiler keeps rising. Even after bleeding a radiator to bring the pressure down, within a couple of hours it gets dangerously high again. I tried disconnecting the inlet valve but even when disconnected the pressure still rises and I have to bleed the rediator again. It's less than 2 years old (guarantee has expred of course) It is a Vokera 28 SE.

If you've taken the inlet pipe off...then it may be that the heat exchanger is at fault...allowing pressure to bleed between DHW and CH.
I hope its not the case as it may be expensive.

Surely you have some sort of breakdown contract? In which case you need to get on the phone.

... or ... a simple inexpensive thermistor (much like a thermostat), not turning off the burner when full temperature is reached.

Either way, den, nothing you can do yourself I'm afraid.

Thanks for your help guys. Looks like it's the heat exchanger right enough. The nice lady at Vokera said that if I pay for a service (£50) I can get the work done under warranty. What a relief as my installer reckons the heat exchanger alone could cost around £200. Thanks again for taking the time to reply.
