Type Of Sand

What type of sand do I need to brush on top of my block paved drive?

Kiln dried.

Both Kiln dried and Polymeric sand are really the correct answers, but they are not cheap.

I have used 'soft sand' but it must be very dry and the day you sweep it in must be sunny and warm to allow all the moisture in the sand to be removed, leaving just the dust to brush/sweep into the joins.
