This morning I left my abusive partner however he has stolen my front door key of which I only have one. The door is one of those with a normal handle on the inside but the outside just has a square block handle that doesn't move u just turn the key and it opens the door, another key in the other side doesn't work (probably Coz its not the right key) but i do not want him gaining entry whatsoever how can I block the keyhole til monday when i can change the locks.

Til someone with a better idea comes along, Waterlocke....I can only think of superglue or something similar....

Good luck...x
Is there anyway you can take the barrel out?
fill the hole with mastic or superglue or just hammer a couple of matchsticks or something similar into the hole.

I assume you can still get in and out?
I would have thought you could get locks changed within hours. I know I did when I thought I'd lost my house keys.

Failing that screw a few bolts on the inside, and a chain maybe.
Its no use filling the keyhole as she needs to get back in herself I think.
I'm assuming a back door entry is still available or the question would not be asked.

Still have access to back door and all the keys. Police aren't really interested just as they aren't any other time. Will try find some glue or something as dont have money to change locks til monday
Check on the net for the cost before putting glue in it.
Could you get a sliding bolt and fit that to the inside of the door?

Or move something really heavy behind the door, so even if he can unlock the door he still can't open it.
Get a neighbour to change the barrel if it is that type of lock.

Not a difficult task and less waste.

Yes I smiled, but... this is an abused partner so maybe not so appropriate ?

Screw the door to the frame. Or screw a batten across the door frame so the door wont open.
You could also knock the pins out of the hinges, remove the door, change the lock, then take off the hinges from the door & door frame, replace the pins, put the hinges back then fit the door back to the frame.
phone locksmith and explain and tell them you can't pay until monday ,they may do it for you today .
Is the part inside like this?

If it is just put the snib on, the key won't operate from outside.
