eggs in the garden

i have found small white jelly like balls in the soil in my garden can you please tell me what they may be

I think they sound like slug eggs,although they are generally colourless.

Garden Snails (Helix aspersa) lay a small cluster of 50 to 100 eggs one to two inches below the soil.  They start off as almost transparent and as the young snails develop, they become more opaque and white, finally slightly grey/brown as the little blighters get ready to hatch and wreak havock with your beautiful garden plants/vegetables.

ant eggs are white 'balls' as well - although more oval than round.

Snail eggs.  Ant eggs are not as jelly like and are usually very well looked after - i.e. if you'd disturbed a nest, the ants would swarm to protect and move the eggs. ( Is it too late for ant eggs?)
