How Do I Clean A Vacumn Flask?

My flask has a film of dark brown stuff inside, stained I think by the coffee. Some of the brown stuff has flaked away. How should I clean it properly?

Two teaspoons sodium bicarbonate in flask, fill with boiling water, leave overnight. Empty, rinse. never fails!

Put a teaspoonful of dishwasher powder in and top up with boiling water. Put the top on and leave overnight.
