Ladybirds?

Are you getting the swarms of Ladybirds in your garden/ house at the moment?

Mine are coming and settling in the utility room when the door is open, which it has been for the last three days.

I haven't seen one for a while, but someone we know said he was in his garage and there were hundreds of them in the corner of the roof.

They're probably looking for a place to overwinter, maybe you can provide a home in your garden and they might return the favor by reducing the aphids next year ?

Chip, I have two insect hotels. They seem to prefer the utility room.

Morning Tilly2 & all.. I was going to post about this too... we've got loads of Ladybirds here too!..I was out in the front garden yesterday and they're climbing up the outside of the house..thier all over the washing when its on the line.. and lots of them are on the inside of the shed door... been going on about 4/5 days here..were in somerset btw!... Manchester here. I've got about 8 of them nonchalantly strolling about on my window for the past week or so (I open it to let them out but they just come straight back again).

Was cleaning the plastic around the windows the other day and couldn't believe how many there were. Had to keep rescuing the little things from the soapy cloth. Since then have had them indoors also. Assumed it was the warm weather.

My Ladybirds are red, not orange.

So are the Harlequin ones, but they are larger than normal ones. Apparently they are harmless, but pervasive!

They're not harmless DocHH, they are cannibals and are killing and eating our native species I'm afraid.
