They're probably looking for a place to overwinter, maybe you can provide a home in your garden and they might return the favor by reducing the aphids next year ?

I was going to post about this too... we've got loads of Ladybirds here too!..I was out in the front garden yesterday and they're climbing up the outside of the house..thier all over the washing when its on the line.. and lots of them are on the inside of the shed door... been going on about 4/5 days here..were in somerset btw!... Manchester here. I've got about 8 of them nonchalantly strolling about on my window for the past week or so (I open it to let them out but they just come straight back again).
Was cleaning the plastic around the windows the other day and couldn't believe how many there were. Had to keep rescuing the little things from the soapy cloth. Since then have had them indoors also. Assumed it was the warm weather.
