Hi wondering if anyone can give me some tips on trees. I'm after a small try with nice flower foliage that I can plant in my small garden which is easy to plant maintain and which will restrict my neighbours view into my garden. I'd like to plant ideally on a small patch of grass outside my front door... So do I have to watch for roots etc? So any tips help greatly appreciated.

Buy a HUGE tub and plant it in that. The roots will be confined so you won't have to worry about that. You will need to water more than if the tree was in the ground but using loads of gel crystals will help. Do you want evergreen or deciduous?

I was thinking deciduous as you get the changes.. Trouble is grass isn't level for a pot and my gardening skills are no existent lol

will steady itself. put in a small tree, some spring bulbs, trailling plants and you are done.

One of my favorites is Amelanchier lamarckii. An ideal tree for a small garden, its deciduous, flowers early spring and has berries in mid-summer, which will most likely be eaten by birds as soon as they start to ripen.

another vote for amelanchier, I have got two in quite small pots where they self seeded and both are doing well. As well as flowers and berries, the autumn colour is stunning.
