I have just moved home and have an programable heater. I know its different for everyone but I was wondering what a comfortable room temperature is to set it on. I'm fit and healthy middle-ish age woman and my room is about 15 x 12, its an old building with thick walls but poor windows. I dont mind getting an extra jumper but would like to use heating to avoid damp too. So I'm turning to you
For working (either physically or mentally) a temperature of 20C is about right. (That's what I always aimed at for my classroom when I was teaching; anything above that meant that the kids didn't seem to be able to think as quickly).
For simply relaxing in front of the telly, some people prefer 21C. Anything above that is simply wasting money.
Those are my own guidelines but when I'm feeling impecunious I'll settle for 16c to 18C and an extra sweater.
Thanks everyone. Ive just set it for 18.5 to come on at 8pm and 4 am. I hope it dosen't switch on till mid november and so wish you and I an indian summer
