I live in the lakes and it rains constantly does anyone know how to get good drainage into my lawn area cheaply?? Does putting gravel in trenches underneath the grass help?

It is rather labour intensive but if you work across your lawn with a garden fork, making holes about six inches deep every foot or so and filling them with sand, it will dramatically improve the drainage of you lawn
