Any tips on the above, other than getting the missus to do 'em.

How big are they, and are they badly creased?
Buy some blinds
I would iron damp on the wrong side then hang up.
You can steam spray them using the steam function on your iron - the weight of the curtains should drop the creases out.
Which side is the wrong side,Maggie.?
As your question is not specific, I cannot give a specific answer. My wife says: iron them damp with a warm (not hot) iron, and hang them as soon as possible. As regards net curtains, do not iron them, but hang them whilst they are still damp from washing. But it all depends on the material.
If they are not too badly creased hang them up and use a hand held steamer.

They're for a customer who sent them to be dry cleaned. They've come back badly creased. They measure about 9' long and 8' wide.
I would send them back to the dry cleaner and ask for them to be redone FOC
For experts in iron curtains I'd be searching out a Russian launderette.
I agree with Margo, anything that comes back from a dry cleaner should be crease free and looking like new.

I've got a hand held steam cleaner, so I'll give that a try first (as it seems the easiest :-) thank you for your answers.
Don't the creases fall out after a year or two ?
It'l be curtains for you, if the missus sees this ;-)...no, what about a damp tea cloth on top then iron.
Haven't ironed anything in over 10 years. Take stuff out of the washing machine, shake thoroughly, gently pull into shape and put on a hanger to dry. That's it.

Tried steam cleaner with curtains in situ, no good, so had to take them down and iron them:-(
Did you complain to the dry cleaners, melv?
If it wasn't for Venetian blinds it would be curtains for all of us .

No scorp, I left that to the customer.
