I had the hot water and a bit of heat on this morning getting up and the hot water was only luke warm....that was a fun shower!!
I set it to come on before I got home, hot water only, to test it and I've just tried it again and again it's only going mildly luke warm.
I've clicked it on to check the pilot light and that is coming on and the boiler seems to be firing up fine.
Had the tank level and overflow pipe fixed a couple of weeks ago after a leak but it's been ok since then save the overflow going a lot which is going to be sorted.
Is there anything I can do to try and get the water hot again?
That's why I use it for towels and bed linen, like an airing cupboard.
I'm not sure about the system, have heard the boiler checkers when they come out to do a service one a year say they are surprised it has the system itself given the age of the house. They lose me when they get technical though!
The last of the "off"'s would have finished for the day before I tried it earlier though, would that still hold true? It was times to go off just past 4pm I think it was so before I got home, or doesn't that matter?
I haven't tried the heating this evening but it seemed to be fine this morning as the house was warm, I'd have probably have noticed even more if that hadn't been on given my barely luke warm shower and hairwash! :)
If you have an advance button, use that instead. It will kick it on until the next timed period is due. You can switch if off manually when you're done with it then, but if you do forget, it will only stay on until the end of your next timed period.
//Hypo, the boiler wouldn't be in a cupboard.

Mine is surrounded by what looks like a cupboard, to match the rest of the kitchen but it has no bottom and the boiler fills the space completely.
That was why I hadn't understood Eve's comment, that I quoted. I haven't used the term "airing cupboard" in years (no HW tank in my CH!!!) but recognised it immediately. That brain cell was overdue for a brief workout. ;-)
