Give your skin a dusting of talcum powder, should help.
Since your question is titled 'Laundry', I assume that the static build-up is occurring when you wash and dry the dressing gown. I can't see how that could happen unless, of course, you're tumble-drying it. (In which case, the obvious solution is to stop doing so and let it dry naturally. Tumble-drying will always result in static build-up)
Chris, oddly I don’t find that. I have got a condenser dryer and find that I just don’t get static. If that is the problem then fabric conditioner, liquid or dryer sheets, sorts it. Where I (south) if I didn’t have a tumble dryer, I’d be living in wet clothes for the better part of the year.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. Will work on them. Bernie
Ditch the fleece dressing gown and buy a 100% cotton one. Synthetic fabric of fleece will always produce static whereas pure cotton won't.
