What make is the shower and how old is it ? Do you live in a hard water area ?
If the light on the pull switch also goes out - it could indicate a problem within the switch. Either a loose connection or the internals of the switch breaking down under load. Turn off the power to the shower pull switch at your fuse board. Remove the screws that hold the switch onto the back box. Check to see if there are any burnt wires, check to see if all terminations are tight. If neccessary replace the switch - this will be a cheaper option than buying a new shower. A new switch should cost around �10 or so. Make sure you get the correct type though, and not just a normal light switch. They are usually double-pole (switches both live and neutral) and are rated at 45amp. Hope this helps.
