oil on lightbulb

someone told me you can dab essential oil on a lightbulb and when it heats up it makes the room smell nice. do u think this wud work with oil burner oils?

I don't know whether you have central heating - I do but I don't like any form of artificial heat but it's better than wearing a coat indoors! I put a few drops of scented oil, in my case sandalwood, on a piece of cotton wool & poke it into the hollows at the back of the radiators - makes the room smell lovely!
